SLOVENIAN LANGUAGE STUDY GROUP
The objective of this group is to increase Slovenian vocabulary and improve pronunciation of the Slovenian language. To be able to comprehend and construct simple sentences in Slovenian both spoken and written, and to have fun learning about Slovenian life, music and culture. We use “Pocket Slovene” and Anki, a computerized learning model. “Colloquial Slovene, The Complete Course for Beginners” (Second Edition) book. may also be used to add vocabulary and provide more exercises.
The study group is appropriate for beginners as well as previous students who would like to review the basics. If you’re interested in traveling to Slovenia or searching your roots, this is a great way to share experiences and learn from each other.
In this new season (2018-2019) of Slovenian Language classes, we will be using a new format. Instead of evening classes two times a month, we will be having two daytime classes as well as a single evening class each month.
The new daytime classes will be held on the first Tuesday of each month, a potluck lunch/class will take place from 11:30 AM until 2 PM at the home of Frank and Mary Medved. The second class each month will be held on the third Thursday and will be held at the New Brighton Community Center from 10 AM until 12:30 PM.
The new evening class will again be held at St. Francis Cabrini Church on the
following Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
(2018) Oct 18, Nov 8, Dec 6, (2019) Jan 24, Feb 28, Mar 28, and Apr 25.
