Member of the Year presented by Norm Setnicker - We are honored to celebrate Jean Rolstad and her many contributions to our group.   As a member of TCS Jean was corresponding secretary for the past 5 years.  Her creativity has shown in her invitations and correspondence in the group.  She and daughter machine embroidered dishtowels and aprons as a TCS fundraiser.  She rarely missed a board or membership meeting, driving over an hour from St. Peter.  She has also volunteered her time in corresponding with overseas military.  She and her cousin Beti have created a volume of genealogy that will be enjoyed by her family for years to come.   Many thanks for all you do Jean!

Treasurer’s report – Mary Ann Setnicker as of last meeting the balance is 2,333.66 with 79 paid members.


Upcoming meeting: March 16 meeting will be a genealogy workshop – Chuck Podominick.  Please bring your materials such as old letters, birth or death certificates, immigration records etc. to start with.  There will be internet access and translators available.

Corresponding secretary – Jean Rolstad has decided to retire from her duties, and  Jean Podominick has graciously taken on the duties of Corresponding Secretary. Hvala Lepa

Festival of Nations – Mike Koski and Sue Rademacher are festival chairs.   May 1 will set up, the festival runs May 2-5.  There will be a sign up for booth volunteers At April’s meeting.

Yul Yost will have an article on the flower Hellebore in SAT.  Hellebores are a perennial native Slovenian flowers and are available in nurseries here .

Perpetuum Jazzile – Patricia  Dahl follows this a cappella choir from Slovenia.  They are doing a US tour in March, and will be in Mason, City IA March 23.  There will be a one day bus trip to the concert.  There is a flyer and a link on TCS website.

Program Rick Pisa “A Taste of Slovenia” based on his trip to Slovenia last fall.  It was a lovely power point    with accompanying music.

Raffled off 2 bottles of wine.
