Membership Meeting Minutes
February 25, 2012

Welcome: President John Zakelj welcomed all and called
meeting to order at 9:45AM.
Reports: No old reports.
Treasurer's Report: Deferred in lieu of special speaker
today.
Motions: There were no
motions or other official business conducted.
Presentation: Miro Medved
introduced former congressman James
Oberstar. He
spoke of his Slovenian ancestry and his assistance in helping Slovenia gain independence.
Sue Rademacher took notes during his presentation (see attached) and John
Zakelj recorded the presentation on video (DVD available from zakelj@cs.com ).
Slovenian Films: Marge
Pryately described work underway to show Slovenian films in various locations
across Minnesota.
Festival of Nations: Sue
Rademacher described planning for this year’s Festival of Nations. Mike Koski asked for volunteers to man the
booth.
Fundraiser: Jean
Rolstad presented aprons and dish towels which she and her daughter are
custom-embroidering in response to individual orders (usually with Slovenian
words) as a fundraiser for Twin Cities Slovenians.
John
Zakelj closed the meeting just before noon.
