Program:
The 2015 Prešeren
Day event at the Julian H. Sleeper House Museum was held on February 7, which is
the anniversary of the death of Slovenia’s greatest poet, France Prešeren.
In Slovenia, February 8 is an official holiday which celebrates Slovenian
culture. We celebrated with a
special program. There was no
admission charge; food and beverages were provided.
The
program was “On the Money.” Dr.
Hawkins talked about historic Slovenian currency in his collection.
Members of the TCS Slovenian language class told us about the notable
Slovenians on the currency.

Although
the official program ended by 11:30, the museum was open till 3 p.m.
In addition to the Slovenian collection, there were nine exhibition rooms
to see. Free Slovenia maps and
tourist brochures were available – over 120 kinds!
