19 March 2020

Dear members and friends of the Twin Cities Slovenians,

The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic has impacted how we do business. Aggressive action is required in light of this serious health issue. Our general membership falls in the high-risk category. Based on the actions of the governor, the recommendations of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) we are taking the following actions:

  1. We have already announced the cancellation of the March membership meeting.
  2. We are cancelling the April membership meeting.
  3. We are cancelling the May event with Bill Koncar.
  4. We were informed today that the Festival of Nations is cancelled. This is the first cancellation in their 88-year history.

We cannot be too aggressive in our actions! These actions will not prevent the spread of the virus; they will just help to flatten the curve. We are part of the highrisk population and must make every effort to protect ourselves.

For your own safety please self-quarantine. Only go out for essential business. When you go out, practice social distancing and wash your hands when you return home. Some people choose to have a separate set of clothes for when they go out. They remove them when they return home and wash them.

We will continue to have updates on our website and on our Facebook page.

Mike Koski

President Twin Cities Slovenians
