Norm and David Setnicker will present “Slovenian Emigration to the Iron Range of Minnesota.”
Saturday April 20, 9:30 am at New Brighton Community Center, 400 10th St NW, New Brighton, MN 55112 in Room 224. Coffee and treats will be provided.
Norm will trace two periods of Slovenian migration to Minnesota’s Iron Range- Mining and the Cold War. In addition David Setnicker, Norm’s brother will speak
about specific reactions to the Slovene families settling in Biwabik, Aurora, and Gilbert in the 1950’s His part of the presentation is based on a two part series entitled, “Climb Every Mountain-Stories of Escape and Resettlement” published in the “Home Town Focus” a local newspaper serving Mesabi East area of the Range.
