Our September membership meeting will include a presentation by Tea Rozman, a long-time TCS member and co-director of Green Card Voices. Green Card Voices is a Minneapolis based, nationally growing non profit that connects immigrants and their communities through multimedia storytelling. They record the first person narratives of immigrants, and publish them in books, online and in traveling exhibits. Last year, they were selected from among 600 Minnesota nonprofits to receive the Bush Prize for Community Innovation (see video here). Tea will show us brief videos recorded by members of TCS. She will also lead us in a Story Stitch storytelling card game, which was developed by Green Card Voices to facilitate sharing stories.
At this meeting, Patrice Pakiz will also unveil our 2026 calendar. Last April, members of TCS were invited to submit their best photos of Slovenia. We received many submissions from which the board chose the 13 best for the calendar. Come find out which photos and photographers were chosen! See separate post for more info about our calendar.
Saturday September 20, 9:30 am at New Brighton Community Center, 400 10th St NW, New Brighton, MN 55112 in Room 224. As usual, coffee and treats will be included in the $4 admission fee.
