Dear Christ’s Faithful,
It is with great joy that I share wonderful news regarding the Cause of Canonization of Monsignor Joseph Francis Buh. I am grateful for the opportunity to share this important announcement with you personally.It is my sincere hope that you will join me on Tuesday, September 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary in Duluth, Minnesota, for the Opening Mass of the Cause of Canonization of Monsignor Buh.
The life of Monsignor Buh, and the Church’s careful process of discerning a cause for canonization, are ultimately intended to lead us more deeply to Jesus Christ. Monsignor Buh’s life points us toward Christ and the Church in our daily lives, in every circumstance, and with faithful perseverance until the end.
We have much to celebrate as a diocese and as a Church as we mark the formal beginning of this process and prayerfully consider Monsignor Buh’s life of heroic virtue and missionary service.
Monsignor Buh is truly a missionary priest for our missionary time. I believe the Holy Spirit is raising him up as a witness and intercessor for the Church and the world today.
I look forward to gathering with you for this historic and memorable occasion.
