The Consulate of Republic of Slovenia invites you to a special event on Saturday, July 9, 2022. There will be a ceremony at the Father Frederic Baraga cross by Schroeder, MN. A new plaque will be installed honoring Father Baraga who was born in Slovenia in 1797 and came to the United States in 1830 and devoted his life to the Native Americans of the Upper Great Lakes. We are inviting all of you to attend this memorable ceremony.
As a testament to the significance of this event, Ambassador Tone Kajzer, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the USA, will be coming to the event. We will also feature KRILA, a 12 member singing group from Slovenia who will perform at the event. Frank Bucar and some members of the Singing Slovenes will be there as well. We kindly invite you to attend this significant event for the Slovenian community in Minnesota.

- 12:00 noon The event will begin and last about 1 hour.
- 2:30 pm On the return trip we plan to stop for lunch. The lunch will NOT be at the location that was originally announced.
We invite you to join us and Ambassador Kajzer for lunch. We will have a private place with a great view of Lake Superior. The directions to the Lunch location will be sent after we receive the RSVPs.
Recognizing the distance to the event, 3 hrs. 33 min., from our home in Roseville, to the monument, we encourage car pooling. Jean Podominick has kindly agreed to coordinate car pooling. If you will be driving to the event and have room in your car we ask you to contact Jean and let her know how many people can ride with you.
