John Zakelj and his sister Dr. Mary Zakelj will present photos from their September 2025 trip to Slovenia. They stayed in the house where their mother was born and raised, visited many relatives, toured the Bay of Trieste and the caves of Škocjan, climbed mountains at Vogel and Vršič, and retraced their parents’ footsteps when they fled over the mountains into Austria in 1945. Relatives and friends gave them personal tours of museums, ski jumps and Parliament. They will show you fascinating aspects of Slovenia that tourists don’t usually see.
